Best gadget loadout for combat in Spider-Man 2
Gadgets share between Peter and Miles, but only four slots are active in combat. Here is the loadout that solves the most encounters with the fewest button presses.
The four slots
- Web Grabber — pulls multiple enemies into a stunned cluster. Best AoE opener in the game. Upgrade for longer pull radius first.
- Concussive Strike — knockback shockwave. Clears space around you when you get swarmed. Ranged enemies fall off rooftops with this.
- Web Line — strings two surfaces together and any enemy that touches it sticks. Set traps mid-fight; enemies run into them.
- Upshot (Miles only — Lightning Dodge slot for Peter) — knocks enemies airborne so you can extend air combos.
Why these four
- Crowd control is the entire game. Insomniac stacked encounters with mixed types — brute + ranged + brute. Web Grabber + Concussive Strike resets the fight twice.
- Web Line turns a single encounter into a multi-stun playground. Run two between rooftop pillars; the next archer to walk through it is gone.
- Air combo extender is the highest DPS swap. Hold square in the air; tap triangle when the meter shows.
Skill points first
Dump your first 6 skill points into the Spider-Verse / shared tree, not Peter/Miles specifics. Air-combo extensions, gadget cooldowns, and parry windows all live in the shared tree.
