Web Wings — fastest traversal in Spider-Man 2

How the Web Wings change the traversal game, where the air currents live, and the two button-tricks every PS5 Spider-Man 2 player should know.

Web Wings — fastest traversal in Spider-Man 2

Web Wings unlock about 60 minutes into the main story, and they change the way you cross the map.

The two button tricks

  1. Hold L3 while gliding to enter a dive. You lose altitude but you gain speed. Press X to swing-cancel into a regular swing when you're low, then jump again to relaunch.
  2. Press jump while sprinting up the side of a building to launch with extra height. Use this when you need to reach the high air currents from street level.

Where the air currents are

Green vertical air currents are the fastest way to gain altitude. They cluster around:

  • The Hudson and East River shorelines — long lanes for cross-borough trips.
  • Coney Island boardwalk — important once you start grinding Mysterio side missions in Brooklyn.
  • Central Park's perimeter — they form a ring around the park; you can lap the borough at top speed by chaining them.

The speed record route

If you're chasing a time challenge, the fastest cross-map line is Brooklyn Visions → Central Park → Empire State → Queens using the East River corridor. You can clear it in under 90 seconds with zero swing chains.

If stuck: if your dive cancels into a swing too short, you're tapping X — hold X mid-swing to maintain momentum into the next jump.
