How to buy the Decoder from Azooz

The Decoder is a key item required to translate locked terminals later in the game. Azooz sells it in the Slums for 3 Energy Drinks. Players spend a long time wondering if there's a quicker way — there isn't, but the route is short if you know it.

Where to find the 3 Energy Drinks

1. Drink #1 — On a stool outside Morusque's house (the musician with the orange neon sign). Just walk up and grab it.
2. Drink #2 — On a barrel in the alley behind the bar. Look for the leaning robot in the alley; the drink is on the barrel next to him.
3. Drink #3 — On the roof of the noodle stand in the central plaza. Climb the pile of crates next to it.

Trade with Azooz

Azooz is the robot in the electronics shop with the green awning. Talk to him with all 3 Energy Drinks in B-12's inventory, then pick the trade dialogue option. He hands over the Decoder.

If stuck: if Azooz gives you generic dialogue and no trade prompt, you're missing one drink. Re-check the noodle stand roof — it's the most-missed of the three.
