Isle of Mists — how to find Ciri
The Isle of Mists is the gate between Act 1 and Act 2. The mist disables fast travel, kills the minimap, and the route doubles back on itself. Players spend 30+ minutes wandering. Here's the working path.
Quest checklist before you sail
- Recruit at least one of: Triss, Keira (alive, sent to Kaer Morhen), Yennefer, the Bloody Baron line resolved, Hjalmar or Cerys (Skellige throne resolved). Each one shifts Ciri's epilogue probability — recruit as many as you can stomach.
On the island
- Land at the south beach. Kill the drowners (3-4) at the spawn.
- Activate Witcher Senses immediately — there's a dead body with a note at the wreck pointing northeast.
- Follow the carved trees — every "path" tree has a carving on the bark. The carvings are the trail.
- Climb the ridge with the standing stone — there's a wraith fight at the top. Specter Oil + Yrden.
- Past the ridge, fight the leshen — silver sword + Igni + dodge. He summons wolves; ignore them, focus the boss.
- After the leshen, descend into the central glade. A glowing tree marks the spot.
- Ciri's body lies at the foot of the tree. Cutscene plays.
After the cutscene
- The mist lifts. You can fast travel.
- Geralt wakes up with Ciri's body — this is when Act 2 begins. The point of no return is before sailing, not on the island.
If stuck: if you keep ending up back at the south beach, you're following the river, not the carvings. The river loops. The carved trees do not — every carving points to the next one.
