Wolf School — Mastercrafted and Grandmaster
The basic Wolven set caps at level 26. To carry it through the DLC, you need the Mastercrafted (L34) and Grandmaster (L40, requires Blood and Wine) upgrades.
Mastercrafted (six new diagrams)
Each diagram is upgraded in place — find the new diagram, give it to a journeyman armorer/blacksmith, they upgrade your existing piece.
- Steel sword (Mastercrafted) — small cave southwest of Kaer Morhen main keep, behind drowners.
- Silver sword — southwest of Ancient Crater, behind a wooden gate (Aard).
- Chest armor — southwest of Kaer Morhen Valley signpost, in a wraith-haunted ruin. Specter Oil.
- Gauntlets — same ruin as chest but a separate chest deeper.
- Trousers — abandoned village northeast of Mountain Pass.
- Boots — northeast of Lornruk, on a cliffside accessible by a narrow path.
Grandmaster (Blood and Wine only)
- Buy the starter map from the Toussaint armorer at the Land of a Thousand Fables fast-travel point (~5000 crowns).
- Six diagrams are scattered across Toussaint — bandit camps in Mont Crane, the Coronata estate, the cave under Castel Ravello, etc.
- Crafting requires Grandmaster Armorer / Grandmaster Blacksmith — both unlock during the Master Master Master Master side quest in Beauclair.
Set bonus (Grandmaster)
- Wolven Set 3-piece bonus: bonus stamina regen, increased Yrden duration.
- 6-piece bonus: every successful counter-attack restores 50% stamina + 4 adrenaline points.
If stuck: if a diagram isn't upgrading at the armorer, you don't have the journeyman tier rank — most armorers in Velen are amateur tier. Use Yoana of Crow's Perch for journeyman, Lafargue in Beauclair for master, and complete Master Master Master Master for grandmaster.
