Caves — Level 1 walkthrough
The opening tutorial level. Lara is dropped into a Peruvian cave system; the chapter teaches movement, ledge grabs, swimming, and combat against wolves.
Key beats
- Climb the steps at the start — first ledge grab.
- Swim across the underwater pool — first swim segment. Surface to breathe.
- Wolves spawn in the open chamber. Pistols are infinite ammo — just keep moving and shooting.
- 3 secrets in this level. The first is the easiest in the game and worth grabbing for the trophy chain.

- Caves Cleared — finish the level. Auto-unlock.
- All Secrets in Caves — find the 3 hidden artefacts.
If stuck: if you can't find the level exit, look for the ledge above the third wolf chamber — sidestep along it and drop into the next room. The exit door is hidden at the back of that drop.
