Atlantis — Level 14 walkthrough
The penultimate level and tonally the strangest in the game. Atlantis is an alien biological structure — pulsing fleshy walls, organic platforms, mutant enemies. Combat is the toughest in the game.
Mutants
- Winged mutants — hover and dive-bomb. Magnums + dodge is the only viable approach.
- Heavy mutants — slow but high HP. Shotgun close range.
- Egg sacs — destructible; some hatch mutants when shot, others drop pickups. Risk/reward.
The egg-laying mechanic
Destroying egg sacs before they hatch prevents mutant spawns later. Worth doing every time.
Platforming
- Organic ramps and pulsing platforms — many are timed.
- One section has a moving wall of flesh that crushes Lara — sprint and don't stop.
- The central spire has long jumps with no margin for error. Save before each.
Final approach
Atlantis ends at a giant alien throne room — entrance to the final level. The throne room has Natla in a brief cutscene; she escapes to the next level.
Secrets
- 3 secrets. The mid-level flesh corridor has a hidden alcove behind a destructible wall — magnums break it.
If stuck: if you're out of magnum ammo before the throne room, you've been wasting it on small mutants. Restart from a checkpoint and conserve magnums for the heavy mutants only. Pistols handle the rest.
